A Winter Storm WARNING means a winter storm is occurring and headed for your area.

Avoid unnecessary travel during Watches and Warnings.

Carry a small Disaster Supplies Kit in your vehicle.

Keep your vehicle gas tank full to prevent the fuel line from freezing.

Know the proper emergency procedures if you get stranded in your vehicle.

If Stranded:

  • Start the vehicle every hour and use the heater for 10 minutes.
  • Leave overhead light on when engine is running so you can be seen.
  • Tie a bright colored cloth to antenna for rescuers to see.
