Red Cross offers a variety of other ways to donate and help people in our community. Whether you're simply looking for a way to make charitable contributing more convenient or you have an unwanted vehicle that you would like to donate, Red Cross has ways for you to participate.

Gift of Cash

The majority of gifts to Oregon Trail Chapter are made in the form of cash.
Please make checks payable and mail to:

American Red Cross
Oregon Trail Chapter
P.O. Box 4125
Portland, OR 97208

Red Cross can also accept gifts of personal property such as works of art, cars, boats, jewelry or other tangible items. To make an online donation, click here.

Matching Gift Program

Many corporations have matching gift programs that multiply the value of gifts from their employees, officers, retirees and spouses. A matching gift form may be obtained from the company personnel or human resources offices, which will start the process of increasing benefit from your gift.

Electronic Funds Transfer

You can support the work of Oregon Trail Chapter through monthly automatic contributions. After completing an authorization form and sending in a voided blank check, your contribution will be deducted automatically from your bank account. The contribution will appear on your bank statement and Red Cross will send you a yearly contribution acknowledgment letter.

Vehicle Donation Program

Steer your unwanted car in the right direction...give it to Red Cross! Unwanted vehicles, running or not, are accepted to assist families and individuals affected by disasters in our community. Trucks, boats, motorcycles and RVs are also accepted. To donate your vehicle, call (503) 528-5634. A free, convenient pick up will be arranged. You will then receive a receipt that can be used for a charitable donation for your tax returns.

In-Kind Donations

The best way to help victims of disaster and allow for the most flexible use of resources is through cash donations. The American Red Cross generally does noth accept any collections or individual offers of in-kind goods. While Red Cross appreciates the generosity of community members who want to do something to help after disaster strikes, donating used clothing, medicine, food, water and other in-kind goods may not be the best way.

If you have an in-kind gift you would like to contribute to Red Cross, please contact the Development Department to determine the need or appropriateness of your gift.
