About Michele Bufton
Born in Morocco, Africa, and then whisked off to Madrid, Spain for a number of years, my introduction to the world was one of respect for varying cultures as well as our own.  My introduction to painting came at the early age of eleven.  By the age of fifteen, I was assisting my mother with painting ceramic pieces for commissioned restaurant and business sales.  A desire to express life through colorful document-tation continued into my adult life, finally reaching the canvas.

My heart finds beauty in simple things which often get overlooked in our daily lives.  Interactions of people, the human form, our children, the world outside my window, countless landscapes, all await the translation into a colorful view through which we can appreciate another’s perspective.

The desire to express this passion for the world has led to a quest.  I am constantly and continuously working to improve my skills, to deepen my insight with all things which surround us and to share this perception with great feeling and dedication when capturing a moment passing.

About Katie Longua
Hello!  I’m Kathryn Longua – but you can all me Katie.  I’m a student just starting my fifth and final year at Arts and Communications Magnet Academy.  I have always been fascinated by art, but it wasn’t till I started at ACMA that I began to develop the skills to create the pictures floating in my mind.  I see artistic potential in everything – whether it’s something interesting to paint on, or something new to incorporate into my art.

Color is a very important part of art for me – I love to be surrounded by bright colors. (You might notice this in the way I dress!)  For several years I have been coloring with markers and I’m just starting to explore paint.  This is the first time I’ve been invited to show my work in a gallery, and I’m very excited!

I’m fascinated by the shapes of the human body.  It is rare that I draw anything but figures.  I love bringing out stories with body language and expression.  I’ve played piano for 10 years, and love music.  Often I try to convey the ecstatic feelings of music through art.  I feel like it’s a joy and beauty that desperately needs to be let out to the world.

If you’re interested in purchasing a print of anything you see, or have any questions, don’t hesitate to e-mail me at Takmai@verizon.net.  I look forward to hearing from you~!

About Margaret MacCorkell
I am a third generation watercolorist from Texas, who enjoys doing whatever interests me in my new home—Oregon.  You can see my work each month at the Village Gallery of Art in Cedar Mill.  Painting at home or on location is fun, but ongoing classes inspire as well.  The energy of being with others as you paint is electric.  That is why I enjoy my summers at Menucha with great college teachers, and with excellent teachers at the Village Gallery in Cedar Mill.

I feel that art is for everyone to either create or enjoy for this is what our world is truly made up of—whether visual, musical or literary art.  So enjoy the “Arts.”
