Position Title: Transportation Coordinator

Reports to: Transportation Manager

Status: Full Time Non-Exempt


Basic Function: Use data management applications; maintain records, prepare reports, and correspondence. Assist with volunteer driver training and coordination.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides office support for transportation services, including monitoring the program budget, preparing monthly reports, preparing billing statements, ordering office supplies, preparing check requests and overseeing volunteer records.
  2. Serves as technical resource to staff for data based programs, such as Access, used to manage volunteer data base and vehicle records. Trains staff and volunteers in data entry.
  3. Prepares reports for special projects.
  4. Assist in training and orientation of new volunteers.
  5. Work cooperatively with the satellite offices – coordinating trip details.
  6. Serve as dispatcher or oversee volunteer dispatchers.
  7. Serve as backup driver when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Two or more years general office experience with demonstrated proficiency in completing correspondence, filing, and customer contact.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Micros oft Access. Ability to compile and analyze statistical and fiscal data for reports.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with Transportation software, such as Route Match, is helpful.Experience working with volunteers or some volunteer experience helpful.
  • Good driving record.

Mental / Physical Demands:

  • Ability to read, review and interpret verbal and written materials and instructions.
  • Ability to train others in proper procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Familiarity with and ability to operate common office machines.
  • Ability to lift empty wheelchair or supplies up to thirty pounds occasionally.
