Fire Displaces Five Residents
PORTLAND, Ore. – October 12, 2006 –An evening fire at an apartment complex on SW 158 th and Walker Road displaced two adults and three children from two units involved in the fire reported at shortly after 7:00
The fire, which totally consumed two upper units of the complex was fought by fire fighters from the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. Red Cross volunteers from Disaster Action Team 7 also quickly responded to the fire and assisted the displaced residents with emergency housing and other short term immediate needs. Additional services may also be provided including counseling to assist the displaced residents in coping with their losses.
The American Red Cross assists victims of fire and other local disasters and emergencies and provides immediate short term assistance to provide for housing, food, clothing, medication, counseling and other necessities at no charge.
