Emergency Response Course Offered by Red Cross
PORTLAND, Ore. – March 27, 2006 – The American Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter is offering an Emergency Response course to train individuals to be the first responder in an emergency.
Course details:
Emergency Response – The course trains individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a first responder in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until more advance medical help can arrive. Topics include basic CPR/AED and first aid and expand to include assessing vital signs, using oxygen breathing devices, spinal injury management, emergency childbirth, critical incident stress debriefing, EMS operations, and special considerations for seniors and children. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification and Emergency Response Certification. Class length: 52.5 hours. Course Fee: $300. All classes will be held at the American Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter, 3131 N. Vancouver Ave. , Portland . To register, call (503) 280-1440.
