Three Alarm Fire in Southeast Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. – August 17, 2007– Oregon Trail Chapter Disaster Action Team (DAT) volunteers have been dispatched to a 3 alarm apartment fire in East Milwaukee.
Preliminary reports indicate up to 12 apartment units are involved affecting as many as 10 families. Disaster Action Team volunteers are arriving on the scene to assess the needs of those affected and will provide immediate disaster assistance to those families and individuals.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare and respond to emergencies. Oregon Trail Chapter Red Cross volunteers respond to residential fires and other disasters every 40 hours on average. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from Oregonians.
