Red Cross Employees Offer Day of Service to Community

PORTLAND, Ore. – (February 14, 2008) The American Red Cross has a history of supporting the community, whether it be helping a family with groceries, clothing and a warm place to sleep after a house fire or providing large-scale relief efforts following a disaster. But it's not just the organization that gives back...it's the employees, too.

On Friday, February 15, employees of the Oregon Trail Chapter will fan out into the community for Day of Sharing 2008, offering their assistance to a variety of Portland area non-profits.

You'll spot them in their Red Cross t-shirts, working at Transition Projects, The ReBuilding Center, Outside In and Urban WaterWorks, amongst others. Volunteer projects range from moving building materials to garden maintenance and planting. Come see us in action!

WHO: Red Cross employees
WHAT: Serving meals to the homeless
WHERE: Transition Projects, 1431 SE MLK Blvd.
WHEN: Friday, February 15 -- 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
