Limited Mobility Assistance
Red Cross Transportation Service is door-to-door. If you need assistance inside an office building, we may require you to bring an escort.

Be sure to alert the ride coordinator when you request a ride if you need to be transported in your wheelchair. Red Cross needs this information in order to schedule an appropriate vehicle and a volunteer trained in wheelchair securement to assist you. If you use a folding wheelchair and are able to transfer to a seat, you may be scheduled in any of the Red Cross vehicles. However, if you use an oversized wheelchair or cart, it may be difficult to provide your ride due to limited maneuvering space in the vehicle.

Additionally, volunteer drivers are not able to lift wheelchairs up or down any stairs. Ramps must be in place at your home and destination for access.
